Young Driver Rentals at TIV
Montenegro allows drivers aged 21+ to rent most vehicle categories. Some economy cars are available from age 19. Premium and luxury vehicles typically require age 25+.
There's usually a young driver surcharge if you're under 25, typically €5, €15 per day. This is charged by the rental company at pickup, not during online booking.
Minimum Age by Category
- Economy (Fiat 500, VW Polo), 19+ with 1 year licence
- Mid-Size (Skoda Octavia, Toyota Corolla), 21+ with 2 years licence
- SUV (Jeep Renegade), 23+ with 2 years licence
- Premium (Mercedes C-Class, BMW X3), 25+ with 3 years licence

- Filter search results by 'no deposit' or 'card-free' to find the most flexible options
- Bring your licence plus an International Driving Permit if your licence isn't in Latin script
- Book the smallest car you're comfortable with, surcharges are lower on economy vehicles
- Check the excess amount, younger drivers sometimes face higher excess on insurance
