Collecting Your Car at TIV
Tivat Airport (IATA: TIV) is a single-terminal airport on the shore of Boka Bay. It handles seasonal traffic from across Europe, with Ryanair, Wizz Air, and TUI among the regular carriers.
Collecting a rental car here is faster than at most European airports. There's no bus to a remote lot — the short-stay car park is 40 metres from the terminal exit.
Step by Step
- Land and clear passport control. TIV has just two gates and one baggage belt.
- Collect luggage and walk through the terminal exit — the short-stay car park is directly ahead.
- Your rental agent will meet you in the car park with the keys and paperwork.
- Inspect the car together, sign the rental agreement, and drive out.
Paperwork to Have Ready
Driving licence (Latin script), passport, credit card in the driver's name. If you booked cross-border cover, confirm the Green Card is in the glovebox before you leave.
Car Inspection Tips
Walk around the car with the agent and note any existing damage on the rental agreement. Take photos of all four sides, the roof, and the wheels on your phone — timestamped photos are your best protection.
Driving Out of TIV
Turn left for Tivat town and Porto Montenegro (2 min). Turn right for the main road: left fork leads to Kotor via the Vrmac tunnel (20 min), right fork leads to Budva (30 min).
